The Big Band sound, along with vocalist Beau Hartman, will be featured at Loft129 when the Potomac State College Community Jazz Band kicks off jazz appreciation month on Thursday, May 5 at 8 PM. Under the direction of Fred Kesner, the PSC Community Jazz Band is a 17 piece big band consisting of current and former music educators and other veteran musicians from the region. The band contains a number of outstanding soloists and will feature the music of the classic big band era as well as compositions and arrangements from contemporary composers such as Mike Tomaro, Gordon Goodwin, and Les Hooper. $5 per ticket
