Fuze State

Coming to the American Woodmark Stage From Bethlehem PA comes the artistry and virtuosity of Fuze State…. a high energy vocal Jazz Fusion Quintet! Creating art for listeners and artists alike, Fuze State combines their expertise in Latin, Jazz, Contemporary and Blues music for a perfect combination of fusion you wont be forgetting anytime soon!

The group features vocalist Emma Bockrath, drummer Daniel Gonzalez, keyboardist Patrick Kerssen, guitarist Kellen Pisani, and bassist John Valinote. Tickets are $20

Emma Bockrath

Emma is a 2022 graduate of Moravian University, holding a Bachelor of Music in Composition with a jazz voice instrument concentration. She has written over 100 songs and pieces, and frequently gigs locally around the Lehigh Valley. Her electronic music compositions have been showcased at the NYSSMA Electronic Music Call for Compositions in Rochester, New York twice and during her time at Moravian, she sang for both the Moravian University BIG Band and Vocal Jazz ensembles. She spends most of her time currently teaching lessons in voice, piano, guitar, songwriting, and audio recording techniques, and you can also find her as a tournament organizer assistant for Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley native Esports organization Brotherly Love Esports.

Daniel Gonzalez

Daniel started performing on the local scene in Honolulu, Hawaii, during the early 90s while stationed with the 25th ID Army band. He moved on to study at UNLV, then Mercy University, while performing and teaching in NYC until being deployed to Iraq in 2004. Upon his return, Daniel moved to the Poconos and holds a bachelor's degree in percussion performance. Endorsed with Bucks County Drums and Red Cymbals of Australia, Daniel enjoys a rich performance schedule. Daniel recorded with Mark Murphy, Tom Harrel, John Benitez, Norbert Stachel, Lonnie Plaxico, Edsel Gomez, and other greats. Currently, he performs with LehCats (NYC), Labex Funk Project (Philly), and Joe Orrach (SF Bay Area). Daniel performs at regional Jazz Festivals yearly and enjoys performing/recording with noted artists locally and abroad. While not gigging, he teaches private lessons at Community Music School in Allenton. Daniel is a committee member for Lehigh Valley's Ice House Jazz initiative that curates jazz and improvisation. Still, Daniel performs weekly at Resurrected Life Church in Allentown. Staying busy, Daniel believes that "when you feel good, you sound good.

John Valinote

Coming from the quaint town of Sciota, Pennsylvania, John is an Electric Bassist known in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono Mountains areas for his performances and recordings in recent years with regional bands like The Contact Collective (@thecontactcollective), Roots in Blue Stone and gospel settings throughout the Lehigh Valley. With influences like Victor Wooten, Michael League, Sharay Reed, Rick James, Marcus Miller and many more, he combines his experiences in Classical, Funk, Jazz, and Gospel with pocket and expression to bring an eclectic mix of music representing musical styles from many different cultures around the world.

Patrick Kerssen

Patrick is a pianist and bandleader based in Bethlehem PA. He began performing professionally as a teenager and has since become extremely busy as a freelancer and educator, averaging over 200 performances each year throughout the mid-Atlantic region at music festivals (Musikfest, Christmas City Jazz Festival, COTA Jazz Festival, Berks Jazz Festival), jazz clubs (Deer Head Inn, Lafayette Jazz Bar, Jazz on Main, Vic’s Jazz Lounge) and theaters/PACs (Sellersville Theater, Miller Symphony Hall, Sherman Theater, Mauch Chunk Opera House). His big band compositions have been performed at Moravian University, the Karel Velebny Summer Jazz Workshop in Frydlant, Czech Republic, and by the Steel Stacks High School All Star Big Band at Musikfest. Patrick also keeps busy accompanying high school and college soloists and groups, adjudicating the occasional high school jazz band competition, and serving as an artist lecturer and staff accompanist at Moravian University.

Kellen Pisani

Kellen is a guitarist based in the Lehigh Valley. Starting at the age of 7, Kellen has a love of music that spans many intersecting genres. Aside from teaching, Kellen maintains an active playing schedule in the Lehigh Valley, Pocono, and Philadelphia areas with bands like Zaire, Flying Blind, Pop Philly and others!
