Theater at the Loft!
On February 9, 1964, a semi-professional harmony group from eastern Pennsylvania met an unfortunate end in an accident on the way to their first big gig. The Plaids -- Jinx, Sparky, Francis, and Smudge -- now find themselves in limbo with only one way to cross over: perform the concert they never got to do in life. Will their voices be heavenly enough to get them through the Pearly Gates?
In this wholesome musical suitable for all ages, the Plaids will serenade you with classics from the Great American Songbook like "Three Coins in the Fountain," "Sixteen Tons," "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing," and more. But they'll also make you laugh by dancing with plungers, recounting how they received Perry Como's Golden Cardigan from the man himself, and re-enacting the entire history of the Ed Sullivan Show in three minutes!
Forever Plaid is presented by Acting Out for Good, a western Maryland theatre group that raises funds for area causes and individuals in need, with over $70,000 donated since 2014. Proceeds from the box office and additional audience contributions will be donated to Brenda Briggs, an area resident battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in her long-term nursing care costs. Show dates and times are Thursday through Saturday, June 27-29, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $15 for ages 13 and up, $10 under age 13.
